Mr Bandula Samarasinghe is an educator in a range of disciplines with experience in teaching in Universities and Technical Colleges in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Sri Lanka. He has been a Course Developer and a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Validator within the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) System.
Mr Samarasinghe got his primary Degree in Engineering (BScEng) from the University of Peradeniya and then obtained another host of qualifications being an MBA, DipOHS and DipPM. He has received professional training in Denmark, Germany, Singapore, South Korea, India and Sri Lanka.
He is a Chartered Professional Engineer, NER, Australia, Chartered Engineer (EC, UK), Chartered Engineer (Sri Lanka), Chartered Marine Engineer and a corporate member of several professional engineering bodies in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture. He is also a member of the Asset Management Council Australia and possesses extensive experience as a Management Systems Lead Auditor (IRCA). He holds committee positions in several learned bodies in Australia and is also qualified as a Certified Workplace Assessor.
Mr Sasmarasinghe is also a senior multidisciplinary engineer/manager with over 25 years of experience in Australia. He has held positions of General Manager Operations, Project Manager and Compliance Manager, amongst others. He has undertaken several international work assignments.
His broad skills also include management system development (Quality, OHS, Environmental and Asset), reliability engineering, and training and facilitation skills.
His previous employers include Bureau Veritas Group Australia, Mermaid Marine Australia, Chevron Gorgon Project, Australia, Rio Tinto Expansion Projects, Australia, Infra Tech Group, Australia and Malaysia, Colombo Dockyard Limited Sri Lanka and several Universities in Australia and overseas.
All these qualifications, training and experience make Bandula one of the top players in the multidisciplinary environment of Organizational and Educational Planning and Development and he contributes to IME as our Planning and Development Adviser from his home base in Perth, Western Australia.
