Diploma in Photography
Overview
- Follow a cutting edge 30 IME Credit, (1680 National Study Hours or 67.2 credits at the higher diploma level) international class true diploma course and get a deep understanding of the science, craft & art of photography

Course Duration
- 60 direct teaching session for full time students (Equivalent to 15 IME Credits or 840 National study hours as per SLQF)
- 4 semesters for part time students (Equivalent to 15 IME Credits or 840 National Study Hours as per SLQF)
- 15 IME Credits worth of supervised thesis writing, literature review and portfolio assignment (Equivalent to 840 National Study Hours as per SLQF)
- Total course load work worth of 1680 National Study Hours at the diploma level
Course Description
- A feature rich 30 Credit, International Class course designed to take participants to international professional standards
- All classes are interactive or multimedia experiences
- Weighted Grade Point Average (GPA) scores are used for assessments
- Mid term theory & practical exam covering three core modules
- A thesis will have to be submitted on a topic chosen by the student under the guidance of his or her mentor
- A separate literature review and a presentation will have to be given on a topic chosen from a pool of topics
- A portfolio of 15 images has to be submitted within two weeks of the final examination; a period of two weeks will be given to submit the defense of portfolio after the initial assessment
- Final exam will have a theory and practical components
- 85% attendance is required to sit for the exams

Educational Requirements
- G.C.E O/L for the full time course. For those who do not have O/L consideration will be given by case by case basis
- Those who enroll for the English medium course need to have an adequate working knowledge of the language to follow the course
Getting the best out of this course
- As in all other courses by IME, we expect students to spend a minimum of 2 hours on homework for each hour spent in the class
- Participation in all classes is expected to get the best out of the course and more than 85% attendance is required to sit for diploma examination
- We expect participants to have equipment as described in the course overview section
Enrolment Process
- A limited number of students will be enrolled per course
- Positions are given on first come first serve basis
- Students need to choose a payment option and must make the payment to secure a placement
Payments
Course Fee: Rs. 160,000.00 (Rupees Hundred and Sixty Thousand )
Payment Option 01 (Discount option)
- Eligible for 5% discount if paid two weeks prior to the commencement of the course
- Discounted Fee Rs. 152,000.00
- Payment date to be eligible for discount – two weeks prior to starting date
Payment Option 02 (Easy Payment option)
- Four equal payments of Rs 40,000
- First payment to secure a place prior to the commencement of the course
- Second payment to be paid prior to beginning of week 11
- Third payment to be paid prior to beginning of week 22
- Fourth payment to be paid prior to beginning of week 33
- Late payment fee of Rs. 1000/week will apply unless paid in time
Making Payments
- Payments can be made in person, to our bank account or via credit card (this option is currently being developed)
- A reference number is required to deposit money to our bank account and should be stated on the deposit slip
